The official trailer for 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo'
Director David Fincher's adaptation of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is, the trailer promises, going to be the feel-bad movie of Christmas.
The film stars Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. The music? That's Karen O covering Led Zeppelin with the help of Trent Reznor.
Although the trailer is little more than quick cuts and dark, stylish shots, you don't need to learn the plot -- you already know what the movie's about. Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is a longstanding L.A. Times bestseller. So are its sequels, "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest."

Not gonna lie: this trailer almost made me forget how little I thought of the novel.
The big, block letters and pounding notes sold me.

I loved the novel but I'm not sure that David Fincher can handle a woman as tough as Salander. It looks from the promo shoot like he's going to water her down and make her more girly and vulnerable for Americans. That would kill the movie for me.
This is a unique literary heroine and anyone who messes with her will be sorry, because her uniqueness is the real story. It's what sets this work apart from any other crime thriller.
Nobody has ever delved into the heart of an abused female computer geek before. This character has been ignored for a long time and needs to live.
But is Fincher strong enough to let her live, or will he water her down?

David Fincher is the perfect director to make this movie. Seeing him back at work with Reznor feels good, here's to them having a longstanding career together. From what little is in the trailer, it looks like he's hitting the tone spot on. This is going to be a fantastic movie.

OMG I don't how to feel about this one. I guess because I have already watched the first version of this movie and to be quite honest I don't believe that Rooney will be able to live up to Salander's character quite as well as Noomi Rapace. So this really disappoints me:(

Really Patricia? Go watch a behind the scenes making of a David Fincher film. Its going to be amazing.

Fincher did say he is going to reconstruct the climax and ending more to his liking, which I debated with myself about, but as soon as I saw the films slogan and heard the Zepplin cover, I'm sure this is going to be an awesome thrill ride. This is not your mothers thriller or Swedish set film, instead i'm sure Fincher won't even think about alluding to Bergman or the classic art house thrillers such as The Third Man and The Lady Vanishes, instead, this will be a though provoking thrill ride, with Euro-Punk'ed versions of classic American rock and a not so Hollywood Ending and Climax (at least for a thriller), since as much as I liked Steig Larson's original climax, it was too generic and way too much after it, but Fincher is a genuine story teller who has been telling fictional stories, longer than Larson did when he wrote Dragon Tattoo, so Fincher obviously knows something in the creativity department, but overall this trailer was as effective as Fincher's previous trailer (which this very much reminded me of) The Social Network "Creep" Teaser, which made me amped up for The Social Network and now with the Renzor, Karen O, Zeppelin Cover Teaser for Dragon Tattoo, now what! Trent Renzor is amazing at scoring films and trailers and seems to work amazingly well with David Fincher.
