Saturday in Irvine: Literary Orange

Orange County celebrates Southern California literary culture Saturday in Irvine at the fifth annual Literary Orange Festival. Mystery writer T. Jefferson Parker will give the closing keynote address at 3:30 p.m.

Literary Orange will be held at the UC Irvine student center. The event is presented by Orange County Public Libraries, UC Irvine and UCI Libraries.

Authors who will be on hand for the daylong series of panels and book signings include Richard Lange ("This Wicked World"), Miles Corwin ("Kind of Blue"), Tatjana Soli ("The Lotus Eaters") and Terry McDermott ("101 Theory Drive: A Neuroscientist's Quest for Memory"). Creative writing professor Ron Hanson ("The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford") will deliver a kickoff keynote at 9 a.m.

General admission is $60; students and active duty military personnel $25.
