The coming end of Sookie Stackhouse
Sookie Stackhouse, the heroine of HBO's "True Blood," is the creation of writer Charlaine Harris. The author has completed "Dead Reckoning," the 11th book in her Sookie Stackhouse series, which will hit shelves this May.
But don't expect Harris to keep on keeping on. "Truthfully, the next two books will probably be the last two books in the series,” Harris told our sibling blog Hero Complex. "I still love Sookie, but I'm beginning to want to write something else, and Sookie's kind of taken over my life. I was able to write other things for the first few years I was involved in Sookie, but then after the start of the television show she took over so much of my time because of my increased publicity obligations that it's been very hard to write other things, and I really need to do that."
What has been tugging at Harris' imagination? A online game called "Dying for Daylight" -- featuring a fashion-conscious vampire. Read the whole story at Hero Complex.

Maybe Mrs. Harris can finally find the time for another Harper Connelly novel?

I agree with Sarasota - I have read all the Sookie books and I like them a lot but Harper is really interesting and I would like to read more about her.
