Who shops at indie bookstores? President Obama does

Barack ObamaPrairie Lights

Barackobama_prairielights

Just in case you missed it: President Obama made a surprise stop at Prairie Lights Books in Iowa City this week. While this picture showed him shopping in the current affairs section, what he wound up buying -- with cash -- were children's books. He picked up "Journey to the River Sea" by Eva Ibbotson and "The Secret of Zoom" by Lynne Jonell for his daughters, and a pop-up Star Wars book for White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs' son.

Obama went to Prairie Lights to make a point about small businesses and healthcare, but it's the book part that I think is more fun.

And in case a photo of the president purchasing the books isn't enough book-buying fun for you, there's a video below.

At least he reads - compared to that idiot before him... the totally incompetent George W. Bush.

Rad

He's amazing.

Notice Barry is paying with real cash. Maybe he doesn't want any credit card info showing up in public.

Totally rad! Was the cashier having a bad day or something? You think she'd be a little happier selling merchandise to the most powerful man in the universe.

The President shops at local stores (not the first time) and all you've got to say, is that, "Maybe he doesn't want any credit card info showing up in public?"

Do you want some coffee with that cup o lard?

reading, small business support, being a nice guy! It's good to see.

Well it seems that most of you people commenting are properly worshiping him and throwing in an occasional "Bush hate" tantrum. Nice brainwashed libs keeping up the insanity and remembering your place in the obamameister's master plan...........UGH !!

I love this guy!

This is soo cool, I just learned about the presidencey more in depth today in one of my politics class. And the president always pays in cash, only because its his money, and for security reasons ya know. But his is good shows we have a very active president.

100% indie president

Whats wrong with someone doing a photo-op at a small business store? yet some of you insist on making it partisan. Get over it already, it is a disease that can only harm the country.
