It’s true: Neil Gaiman will write a ‘Dr. Who’ episode

When Neil Gaiman spoke at UCLA Live on Thursday night, he got a question about whether he’d ever write a ‘Dr. Who’ episode. There was a burst of applause from fans who had heard rumors that he might -- but Gaiman did no more than smile coyly, neither confirming nor denying.

This weekend, SFX Magazine got confirmation from Neil himself that he is writing an episode of the long-lived TV series. In an e-mail, Gaiman wrote:

And while I know it’s cruel to make you wait for things, in about 14 months from now, which is to say, NOT in the upcoming season but early in the one after that, it’s quite possible that I might have written an episode. And if I had, it would originally have been called “The House of Nothing.” But it definitely isn’t called that any more.

‘Dr. Who,’ which is produced in England, is shown on BBC America. The new season starts up this spring.
