L.A. Festival of Books at UCLA gets off to a cool start

It’s beautiful weather at the L.A. Times Book Festival at UCLA as panels are starting to get underway this morning.

Unlike the scorching heat of past years, temps today are in the mid 60s -- perfect for walking around campus from stage to stage.

Some highlights today at the Children’s Stage: Playhouse Disney’s ‘Choo-Choo Soul’ at 1:25 p.m.; Eric Carle, author of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ at 2:40 p.m.; and Yeardley Smith, voice of Lisa on ‘The Simpsons’ and author of ‘I, Lorelei’ at 3 p.m.
