Book news of the dead: Poe, Stephenie Meyer, Robert Giroux
One scholar's campaign to bring Edgar Allan Poe's body back to Philadelphia is covered in the New York Times. Authorities in Baltimore, where Poe rests (eternally?), say that "Poe's body isn't going anywhere."
If Stephenie Meyer has set aside the retelling of her "Twilight" saga from the perspective of undead hottie Edward's point of view, how will she fill her time? Co-directing a music video on the California coast.
"Swedish Death Metal" by Daniel Ekeroth is the debut offering from Bazillion Points; the independent publisher, run by author and musician Ian Christie, will focus on books about heavy metal.
Esteemed editor Robert Giroux, of the publishing house Farrar, Straus & Giroux, has died. He was 94.

Jeff, Edgar Allen Poe lived in Philadelphia from 1838 to 1844, and the city is the location of the Edgar Allen Poe National Historic Site (http://www.nps.gov/edal/). His body was there -- when he was alive and kicking.
