Eugene Harrington Jr., a 23-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the 37400 block of Kimberly Lane in Palmdale, authorities said.
Harrington was with his younger brother and another person about 9:10 p.m. when he got into an argument with the person, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The person pulled out a shotgun and shot Harrington once in the head, according to coroner's records.
Harrington was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., according to coroner's records. His younger brother was not injured in the incident.

Alfonso Gonzalez, a 36-year-old Latino, was found dead Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the 1700 block of Autumnmist Drive in Palmdale, authorities said.
According to coroner's records, Gonzalez's burned body was found with arms and legs bound in a closet at a residence. He was discovered by authorities after the residence was set on fire.
Though the coroner's initial report on the killing indicates Gonzalez may have been beaten before he was burned, detectives said they are still investigating what happened to him.

Chad Johnson, a 19-year-old black man, was shot and killed on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the 400 block of East Avenue Q-3 in Palmdale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Johnson, a resident of Lake Los Angeles, was standing outside an apartment about 9 p.m. when someone approached and shot him, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
Johnson was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m., Winter said.

Lisa Marie Bromiley, a 20-year-old Latina, was beaten and found dead in a vehicle Aug. 26. in the
2500 block of Olive Drive in Palmdale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Bromiley was found with blunt-force head trauma in the car at 6:08 p.m.

According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release, the incident happened about 1:30 a.m. and four suspects, including the suspected shooter, were arrested later that day.
Francisco Govea, a 22-year-old Latino, was also shot and killed in the same incident. The suspects were not identified.
[Update at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 21: Los Angeles County district attorney's office has charged three men with the murders of Govea and Reyes.
A fourth man has been charged with accessory to murder.
Prosecutors filed charges Sept. 1 against Jonathan Martinez, an 18-year-old Latino; Jorge Linares, a 20-year-old Latino; and Manuel Garcia, a 20-year-old Latino. The felony complaint filed by the district attorney's office further alleges that the killings were gang related.
The men were arrested Aug.1 by sheriff’s officials from the Palmdale station, according to county jail records. They are being held without bail.
In addition, Randy Trujillo, a 19-year-old Latino, has been charged as an accessory. He is accused of harboring and aiding Martinez after the killing. Trujillo was released from custody on Sept. 3, jail records indicate.]
