Anthony Harris, a 24-year-old black man, was shot in the 13000 block of South Figueroa Street in Harbor Gateway and died Aug.9, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, described the incident as a walk-up shooting.
Harris was shot about 1 a.m. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead 35 minutes later, Winter said.Friends and family of Harris set up a street memorial on the site of his shooting. Thirty-five votive candles were placed around a photo of Harris, and tea candles were placed in the center of the memorial in the shape of an A.

David Isaiah Medina, a 45-year-old Latino, was shot in the 1700 block of South Mesa Street in San Pedro on Tuesday, July 21, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said the incident was a walk-up shooting. Medina died from blunt force head trauma as well as a gunshot wound to the chest, Winter said.
The shooting happened at midnight, and he was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m. the same day, nearly 24 hours after he was shot, Winter said.
Daniel Castro, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot in the torso in the 200 block of West 2nd Street in San Pedro. He died on Friday, June 5, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Castro was found in an alley with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died about 12:43 a.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
