Santa Fe Springs: Jonathan Gonzalez, 18

Jonathan Gonzalez, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the 11700 block of Burke Street in Santa Fe Springs, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Craig Harvey, chief coroner investigator, said Gonzalez and another man were standing on railroad tracks in the area, allegedly making a deal involving a firearm.

Authorities reported than someone robbed the men with a gun, shooting Gonzalez. The man he was with was able to run to a nearby business to call for help, coroner's officials said.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m., Harvey said.
