Pomona: Edgar Silva-Valdivia, 21

Edgar Silva-Valdivia, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Dec. 19, at Garey Avenue and Philadelphia Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Silva-Valdivia was driving a vehicle when he got into an argument with the occupants of another vehicle. Someone in the other car opened fire, hitting Silva-Valdivia once in the head, Winter said.

A passenger in Silva-Valdivia's car was not injured.

Silva-Valdivia was shot about 9:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene 20 minutes later, Winter said.
