Norwalk: Marcel Ortiz, 21

Marcel Ortiz, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, Dec. 14, in the 14500 block of Piuma Avenue in Norwalk, authorities said.

Ortiz was standing in a garage with two other men when someone approached the group with a rifle and opened fire, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Ortiz was shot about 7 p.m. and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:56 p.m. The two other men were wounded in the attack but were listed in stable condition and are expected to survive, authorities said.
