Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.

so, despite the 24/7 nonstop coverage of all missing or murdered white blond women, which would and does lead one to believe that the vast majority of murder victis are blond white women, we see the sad FACTS here: 19 murder victims, all but 3 are MALE, and only 1 of the 3 females was white.

where is the outrage and media coverage about this profound disparity and the need for public monies/national initiatives/constant new's coverage about the REAL world, where MEN and BOYS are the actual victims, faces of violent crime that is NEVER, EVER shown.

just sickening!!!

francis, welcome to the world of political correctness. Where not hurting someones feelings is more important than reporting the facts.

Reminds me of a quote from the bible. John 8:32 "and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
