Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.

WOW!!!! THATS SO SAD, BUT IT HAPPENS WAY TO OFTEN

I remember this young man when he was a baby. My prayers goes out to his entire family.

dear

This is my cousin we are talking about here. The person who was with him the night of the murder is not speaking up. This is what continues the violence. I hope I don't find either one of these fools. The one who took him to the party that night, or the fool that shot him! The streets are talking...

I don't know what he was doing in the projects anyway this boy was from UG everybody know we napp killa so any napp caught in the hood this will be the outcome ya'll act like you don't know how the baby loc's get down i blame it on his homies they should have never let him come close to the bricc's

it amazes me how the police know these blk and mexicans keep killing each other and they aren't doing anything to stop it, a reward need to be offered in every killing, los angeles is always crying broke, but yet people constantly payin all types of parking tickets heel i've racked up about $1,000 worth this month myself, mayor ,somebody get these damn hoodlums off the streets!

I'm so sad that the LOVE OF MY LIFE was taking from me. He will be remembered by his twin his son who will go on to do great things and make him very proud. Louis I will ALWAYS LOVE YOU and you will NEVER be replaced. I MISS YOU SO MUCH, BABY WE LOVE YOU!!!! Threw the good, bad and everything in between in our 6 years we still loved each other very much and I promise the name Louis Pickett Jr.III will live on FOREVER!!!! My heart is broken, my face full of tears, my soul feeling lost, our son without a father, I need you here with me I want my family back.

I wouldn't go to a party in Watts even if Puff Daddy was doing it. To many knuckleheads and bangers.

Today I said my final goodbye to Louis.Everybody came out and showed him love.He had the church packed, everybody that was there today was there for one reason and that was because they loved and cared about him. Regardless of who he hanged with or where he resided, he was still a good person who didn't deserve this. But his memory will live on forever. I will truly miss you.

Rest In Peace....

I want to thank everyone that came out to show Louis love on his day. I know he was looking down on us smiling because he got to see his family and friends gathered together on his behalf. MY KING you deserve the world and now its yours!!!! Continue to look down on us and guide us in the right direction. We love you and miss you very much and you will NEVER be REPLACED or FORGOTTEN...you will ALWAYS be THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!!

My heart goes out to the family especially his son. I dont care where he was from Louis went to school with most of us in WATTS he is not a damn stranger. Most of the people in Watts grew up with the twins and Louis. Come on now people. Karma is a bitch and she aint nothing nice. People need to be becareful. When you do dirt alot of people and suffer in the end.

G-Red and Baby Loc's

RD where u at?

It's sad that the brothers have to keep killing each other, and that's want the white man wants you guys to kill each other you are killing off the race. You need to do something better with your life and get educated and better yourselves. The things you are doing especially the being involved in gangs is very stupid and hurts your family in the end.

LIFE IS 2 SHORT..U ONLY LIVE ONCE..
