Watts: Louis Pickett Jr., 24

Louis Pickett Jr., a 24-year-old black man, was shot and killed early Sunday, Oct. 4, in the 2000 block of East 103rd Street in Watts, officials said.

Pickett was fatally shot about 1:40 a.m. while attending a party, said Los Angeles Police Officer Gregory Baek. Detectives believe the shooting was gang-related.

His body was recovered near 103rd and Lou Dillon Avenue, about four blocks east of where the shooting is believed to have taken place.

Pickett’s killing was one of five shootings Sunday in Los Angeles. They left one man dead and four hospitalized, two in critical condition.
