Pomona: Armando Vidana, 25

The location where Armando Vidana was shot. Credit: Google Maps Armando Vidana, a 25-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Illinois Street and Laurel Avenue in Pomona, authorities said.

Pomona police Sgt. Matt Stone said Vidana was walking down the street at about 3:20 a.m. when he was approached by one or more people who shot him several times.

Stone said police have several persons of interest in the case but no definitive suspects. Stone said the motive in the killing is likely gang-related and that Vidana was a known gang member.

After the shooting Vidana was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:58 a.m., Stone said.
