On Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, The Times launched a new version of the Homicide Report. You have arrived at the old blog.
Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.
Comments prior to Jan. 26 will, at least for now, remain archived here, with links provided in the new database.

Toni Zazueta, a 29-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 17, in the 11500 block of Tina Street in Norwalk, authorities said.
L.A. County Sheriff's deputies said they believed Zazueta -- whose body was found with the body of a man whose name was not immediately released -- was the victim of a murder-suicide. The man also had gunshot wounds.
Officers found the bodies after responding to a report of assault with a deadly weapon at 12:50 p.m., said Rick Pedroza, a deputy sheriff. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

Toni will definately be missed, she was my friend and co-worker, we hired in together at the company she worked for... she was sweet, kind, funny, always happy and a great friend, may you rest in peace and your family be strong and up lifted, my prayer go out to the family.May God be with you and your family!
