Patrick Shillings, a 21-year-old black man, was shot several times and killed Sunday, Oct. 18, at Lassen Street and White Oak Avenue in Northridge, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s officials.

Craig Harvey, chief coroner investigator, said Shillings was walking east on Lassen Street with another person when they were approached by several people.

An argument began and several shots were fired, Harvey said. Shillings ran and collapsed a short distance away. He was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. at the scene, Harvey said.
