U KILLER'S THINK YOU ARE GETTING AWAY WITH SOMTHING DONT YOU? YOU GOT A HIGHER POWE YOU GOT TO ANSWER TO.WHEN THAT DAY COME AND ''GOD'' JUDGE YOU WHAT DO YOU THINK GOING TO HAPPEN.ONE DAY SOMEBODY IS GOING TO READ ABOUT YOU, ON THIS WEB SIGHT.YOU BETTER WAKE UP STOP MAKEING MOTHER'S PLAN YOUR FUNAREL. THIS IS A QUOTE FROM THE OLD SCHOOL HAIL HAS A LOT A ROOM IT'S NOT EVEN HALF FULL UN QUOT.

THINK: CHOOSE LIFE OR DEATH!

I went down to this shooting site...candles and a big teddy bear under a tree....man...that area is the nutty blocc compton crip area..and sad to say...any black guy who even lives in certain areas are marked for death by a member of another gang.......this goes on everyday....13 year old boy......man.......I hope the killer rots

Why didn't the LATimes write about this 13 year old boy. They write about all other children that are shot. According to the people in the neighborhood the Sheriff told the shooters to freeze they got out their car and jumped back in and took off. The Sheriff let them go and they got away. Because they don't care what happens in Compton. We asked the LATimes to talk to the mother of the 13 year old. Compton parents suffer just like all parents. The boy was sent home from school early and nobody notified the parents, they would have gone to the school to get him. So their is enough blame to go around. Now we have two shooter loose in the community to kill again.

Pepsi, the reason this continues to happen where cops let scum go is because of anti-cop sentiment primarily in black communities like Compton, not because they don't care. Can you imagine catching these cockroaches who just took the life of a 13 yr old kid, what must go thru a cops mind? the rage and adrenaline rush he must feel? but they have to think that those perpetrators will hire an evil ACLU lawyer to sue me for mistreating them, so they think is it worth losing my job and pension just because we tried to catch killers who have strongarmed our city with violence and we can't bust heads or protect and serve our community because that same community we're trying to protect hates us?

Screw the teddybears, candles and the baloons that say "YOU'LL BE MISSED", how about more rage, let the cops catch the gang members, line them up and execute them on the spot start putting the fear of God into the hearts of these
punks and you'll see how it'll turn around.

Maybe, but just maybe the LAPD need to go back to the Darryl Gates days or Sherman Block days for the sheriffs, but no way, politcal correctness has its meathooks too deep in the societies consciencness.THATS WHY WE'RE LOSING OUR society the cops and the justice system are the ones that are handcuffed, not the criminals.Pathetic!!!!

13yrs young....his life had not even started.no matter what his sitruation was,he did not deserve to die.a child is a child.i klnow plenty youth good, bad and misunderstood ones.not one do i feel deserve death.it saddens me to think that someone thought that little of his life as well as theirs,oh yea they will pay one way or another.evil begets evil and karma is a m.f.we are losing a generation.........

Outraged Father, thank you for stating the obvious! The only way to control these gangs is to put fear into them!

Mr Outraged Father with all due respect there is a fair share of anti-cop sentiment in both Black and Brown communities, there have been wrongs in both communities by the cops, but in most cases some of these people and gangsters are the cause of their own troubles. But, I still fully support the Police, because without them a load of us people would probably be dead from all of these low life criminals who walk our streets doing their evil deeds and terrorizing our neighborhoods, and I wish that more Blacks and Browns will work with and support our Police departments.

Outraged Father...are you on drugs?....Darryl Gates and Sherman Block?........Are you serious...these guys were taught law enforcemnt by a generation of men who would call me a NiG**R in my face. Im a black male at the age 27...from Long Beach---born and raised---I get the 3rd degree by the cops at least once a month--be it LBPD-LAPD--LACSD--and cheif of police in Long Beach was Tony Batts over the last several years...AND I LIKE HIM!! He was always in the community---alway...he always waived and smiled---not act all stone faced and mean like half of the cops in LB are...Gates and Block? Are you kidding...didnt we have thousands of murders in the decades of their rule?..May be 20,000 people have been killed in over the years they have lead in LA county and LA City...they taught the cops who are now senior officers in our local department ...they are the last generation of cops---that have a direct link to the old school----we do not need the cops now...bringing back up the old way...they are bad enough now without a crazy leader

OutRaged Father, you are in law enforcement and your remedy of line them up and shoot them is not the answer either. We need law enforcement to work with the community. There has to be a trust there and you sure do not meet that mark.

A 13 year old boy is brutally gunned down and this is not even reported on the local news. I didn't even know about this shooting until reading the Homicide Report. There should be outrage about this in Compton but there is not from the residents. I guess the people in Compton have just come to accept murders of children. They complain more when the Sheriff's do something than about murders like this.

foclips, I knew I was going to get some heat for this, thats why I used caution by saying maybe, no I'm not on drugs just outraged.

Pepsi, I agree there has to be trust but there isn't, so the communtity don't trust cops but need them to come to the recue, do you see the dilemma they're in? They have to abide by the laws but evil doesn't,thats why these vermon are killing our children with impunit.

Great point Rick, they complain more about cops doing something than murders itself, but hey...when another kid
gets cutdown lets just cry some more and run to the flower shop and put more candles and ballons like if the world really cares. Flowers will wilt candles will go out and life will move on but the scars won't. The community needs to make critical decisions and fix the problem, and the way to fix it is to do what I suggested on my last comment,

Syscom3, you haven't commented latley on LA Land.

this kid played on the football team i was coaching for inglewood jets. i dont know what happen or how did they choose him to shot but he was a average kid.

There was community outrage there were two vigils and I reported this to the LATimes. I asked them to cover the vigils and talk to the parents and community leaders. Both times the LATimes failed to show. It is like Compton doesn't exist even if we have our children gun down it was just not news worthy. But other communities have weeks of coverage until someone is caught or the Board of Supervisors puts up a reward as an incentive. Now I wonder if the Board of Supervisors was even notified. Either way the Sheriff that was there let the shooters go to kill another child.

omg me and marvin went way back and remember this, what goes around comes around. what type of person are you to kill a 13 year old. MARVIN YOU ARE SURELY MISSED I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is truly sad.13 years old haven't begun to live. L.A. Times doesn't have the resources to cover a lot of these murders .due to the economy I am grateful for the homicide report for reporting what they can

i think we should look inside ourselves inside our community for the help we need.we got to start caring for one another and stop waiting for some outsider to make US change.our so called leaders only surface after a tragic event or when the cameras are out.where are these activist and preachers doing the week when our children are walking home from school,?better yet we should be standing out watching and ensuring our children and our nieghbors children are looked after.go back to the old days;it takes a village......

Marvin was such a good friend and it really hurts me to see him go at this age. Who ever did this to him must have lost they mind and need to go pick it up and put it into place. Why would someone do that to an innocent person. Marvins death is going to be on my mind alot. MARVIN I MISS & LOVE YOU SO MUCH BUT I'M HAPPY YOUR IN A BETTER PLACE NOW!!!! I SEND ALL MY LOVE 2 HIS FAMILY. Rest In Peace :)

I grown up in the Grandee's and it was Bad then nothing has changed about these apartment complex it is one way in and one way out so the gang members feel they can come in and hide and no one will see them they have taken aover those apartments for many years now and smoe people in there do nothing do to being afraid and that's underatandable and you also have people that hang out with them and invite them over so this is where the problem come in at and to the family that lost your child my heart goes out to you words can not express the lost of a love one but i do feel the pain I have two son's and both of my son's have been shot and that is something no parentshould have to go through or kids are suppose to burial us not the other way around so to all that is listen this most stop we are killing are owe and the other races are sitten back just laughin at us because we do not stick together we must stop this killing please listen!!!

I forgot to say by the grace of God and prayer that both my son's survived. it's been a month now that my youngest child was shot but we are working it out one day at a time. Trust God has a place for all.
