La Cañada Flintridge: Genny Herrera, 39

Genny Herrera, a 39-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Friday, Oct. 16, in the 4500 block of Lasheart Drive in La Canada Flintridge, authorities said.

Authorities said Herrera was the victim of a murder-suicide.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives said the shooter was a 47-year old man who was a close friend of Herrera’s. The man, whose name was not immediately released, allegedly shot Herrera and then himself.

Detectives declined to release more information about the relationship between the pair.
