Carson: Wilson Victorian, 59
Wilson Victorian, a 59-year-old black man, was shot and killed by Gardena police on Friday, Sept. 4, in the 200 block of Dominiguez Street in Carson, authorities said.
Gardena police had responded to a report of a burglary at a NAPA auto parts store on Normandie Avenue about 4:21 a.m., said Lt. Dave Dolson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Officers sent out a description of a truck they suspected had been used in connection with the robbery to all nearby units, Dolson said. Officers saw a truck driving southbound on Normandie Avenue that matched the description. When they pulled behind the truck the driver began to speed away, Dolson said.
He said the two officers -- who have not been identified -- told investigators the vehicle hit speeds of 90 mph. After a short pursuit down Torrance Boulevard, Victorian's truck came to a stop in a cul de sac, Dolson said.
The officers got out of their vehicle with their guns drawn. Victorian allegedly put his car into reverse and tried to run over one of the officers. Officers fired at Victorian's truck. The truck came to a stop when it jammed between a bush and a light post on the street, Dolson said.
Dolson said a dashboard video camera captured much of the incident, including Victorian backing his car toward the officers.
Victorian was shot three times, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials, including one wound to his head and two to the left side of his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dolson said stolen property from the auto parts store was recovered from Victorian's truck.

thats all cops know how to do kill innocent people just this year they have contributed to about 30 homicides, most of which were innocent people,,,,,and was their excuse? "oh i thought he was reaching for his waistband" most cops are the real criminal 99.99 percent of them never get charge when shooting someone after investigation is over. and chief bratton calls himself a hero lol he is an sob for protecting these cops.

I don't see how you can say the guy was innocent when he just committed a felony burglary. His truck matched the description given and he had the stolen property in his truck from the store. All he had to do was give up but, no he had to back up towards them. Joseph, what if your home or business was just burglarized. What would you want the police to do, look the other way or catch the suspect.

Joseph,
Are you kidding me with the innocent people stuff? Did you actually read this article? Let me make sure I understand you, because I can be a little slow sometimes (with that said even I can see that a man stopped by police with stolen goods in his truck can get shot after he tries to run the police over) When you say "most of which were innocent people" what were these "innocent" people doing that landed them on the business end of a cops gun? I can tell you that in my 37 years on this earth I have never put myself in a situation where I:
1. broke into a business for the purpose of robbing the place
2. led police on a chase through the city streets putting not only the cops life at risk, but everbody else on the road as well, and for what??? stolen items?
3. lurched my 3000lbs automobile at cops that had guns drawn on me
Guess what?? I am still here, imagine that if you will for a second........I have never demonstrated any of the above behavior and therefore have never been shot by police officers. It is sad that this persons life came to what it was...but thank god cops were there so this person didnt run down my wife or kids trying to their stolen goods back to the dope man for some dope.
You mention "reaching for his waistband" brings me to my second point. The few times I have had to deal with police officers I:
1. kept my hands on the steering wheel
2. didnt reach for my waistband
3. again, DIDNT TRY TO RUN THEM OVER!!!
If you seriously think 99.99 percent of the criminals are cops I would like to know what color the sky and grass is in your world........

All I have to say is AMEN!! JJ well spoken, some people just don't get it, and never will. I guess if this man had broken into his business that he worked so hard to have, then he might understand, because who is he going to call if his business was broken into?, the POLICE!. People need to support the very people making it safe for them to do some of the daily things they do, the POLICE!!, because if they weren't around it would be like the wild, wild west out there.

Joseph, Now I understand why violence is so high out there, Every time someone is killed it's the same old story, when it's a gang member killed by gang violence, they always say "oh, he was not in a gang, he just dressed like, acted like, threw gang signs like and hung out with gang members. Someone actually said about a murdered drug dealer "just because people do bad things doesn’t make them a bad person", uh, yes it does. Every case I have ever seen on this page where the cops shot someone, people say that the cops shot the person for nothing. It's like an alternate universe where people throw all of their support behind the thugs, gang members and drug dealers and the police are always in the wrong no matter what. No wonder gangs and drug dealers love it out there. Joseph people like you need to get a clue
