Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.

Victor Dominguez, a 25-year-old Latino, died on Thursday, Sept. 17, after he was beaten in the
1600 block of South St. Andrews Place in Harvard Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Dominguez was the victim of an apparent robbery on Sept. 13. His assailant hit him several times with a brick at about 2:15 a.m., and he was taken to a hospital for treatment, Winter said.
Dominguez died in the hospital four days later at 6:32 p.m.
