Darren Way, a 21-year-old black man, died on Sunday, Sept 20, after he was shot in the 10000 block of South Hobart Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s officials. Way, of Palmdale, was walking with his girlfriend when a car pulled up next to them and someone asked him: ‘Where are you from?’ said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. The assailant then shot Way several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:01 p.m., Winter said.
