Arturo Alvarez, a 34-year-old Latino, was shot and died on July 7. His body was discovered in the 700 block of West 56th Street in Vermont-Slauson, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the coroner’s office, said Alvarez’s was found in the trunk of a car after police pursued and eventually stopped the vehicle. Alvarez had been kidnapped earlier that day and was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m., Harvey said.
