Sergio Santiago, a 17-year-old Latino, was shot in the left side of his chest July 2 in the 17100 block of Coolwater Avenue in Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Santiago, of Lancaster, was found shot in the street about 11 p.m. July 2, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Santiago was taken to the hospital after the shooting and underwent surgery to treat his wound, Winter said.
He was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m. on July 3. Winter said authorities believe the shooting may have been gang-related.
It is so sad to see that this young man was shot and killed and I hope the killer pays for what he did

maby if people new the truth about the story they wouldnt think the guy who shot deserves to be prosicuted...IT WAS JUSTIFYABLE!!!! i dont think the killer should pay...the kid tryed to hit a girl in the head with a bat and his "homies" 10-15 of them tryed to jump the girl and two guys...so its there fault!!!!! JUSTIFYABLE
