Gerardo Cruz, a 30-year-old Latino, was shot and died June 17 in the 13000 block of Weidner Street in Pacoima, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
LA Weekly reported that Cruz was standing in front of his girlfriend's home, having a beer with her brother, when three men drove up, got out of the car, and started shooting.
Police are calling the shooting gang-related, though they say Cruz was not a gang member, according to LA Weekly.
