Lindval Baptist, a 28-year-old black man, was bludgeoned to death with a hammer on July 11 in the 3100 block of 6th Avenue in Jefferson Park, the Los Angeles County coroner's office said.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, one of Baptist's relatives found him in his home lying in a pool of blood. The relative called 911 and Baptist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The LAPD arrested Brian Wright, 54.
