Inglewood: Crystal Crawford, 24
Crystal Crawford, a 24-year-old black woman, was shot in the head at 95th Street and 8th Avenue in Inglewood on May 31. She died in the hospital at 10:47 a.m. on Monday, June 1, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Crawford, of Los Angeles, was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car with three passengers, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Another car pulled up alongside Crawford's, and someone from the other car yelled something at Crawford and began shooting, Winter said.
Crawford was taken to a hospital and died, the other three occupants survived the incident. The killing may be gang-related, Winter said.

I have lived in Inglewood for 4 months, and I have not seen a police cruiser yet, street racing, drug addicts, loud music, and gang bangers running the streets at all hours of the day and night. wish I had known this before I signed the year lease.
Is there an agency the patrols N. Inglewood south of cent. east of labrea? Can we get a dog, guard with a flashlight, a roll through, a helicopter every now and again, just a preventative measure before the shootings and drive by's start?

I know/knew Crystal since 1996 she is not nor has she ever been in a gang. She is a college graduate and a preschool teacher. Just wrong place wrong time. Look up her story on abc 7 news los angeles web site. I believe it's under Inglewood preschool teacher killed. You can learn a little more about Crystal.

It really is sad that i'm writting on here twice.. my cousin just recently passed and i left a comment .. and i also had the joy of knowing ms. crawford we went to high school together and she was such an inspiration. She sang she danced, and i rememnber her cd was coming out whn we were freshmen. It's really sad that those who help people are the ones being taken away from us.. Its time for us to start waking up and speaking up.. because her killer and my cousins killer are still out there.. So please if anyone knows anything PLEASE SPEAK UP!! it going to keep happening until we all start speaking up..

There are so many killers walking the streets of LA I'm beggining to think that there are more of them than innocent victims.
The culture of death and gangs in LA will not cease. Way too much blood spilled and revenge for the spigot to br turned off.

I met her through a cousin and used to see her at clubs. She was a great dancer and very kind. Last night I was walking and saw her photo on a wall offering information about her passing. I couldn't belive it life is so short and you just never no. Whether or not if it was gang related the good lord sees and knows everything. She was very young and now she has moved on to her new and final home. In the arms of God she is truely safe from harms way.
God bless you Crystal & Family!
