On Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, The Times launched a new version of the Homicide Report. You have arrived at the old blog.

Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.

Comments prior to Jan. 26 will, at least for now, remain archived here, with links provided in the new database.

Homicides: July 13 - July 20

The Los Angeles County coroner's office has confirmed the following deaths as homicides. The Times will report more details later this week:

Heliodoro Cantoral, a 44-year-old Latino, on July 13. Cantoral was struck over the head with a beer bottle in the 2600 block of East Lacy Street in Lincoln Heights.

Eric Douglas, a 50-year-old black man, on July 15. Douglas was shot several times in the 100 block of East F Street in Wilmington.

Isidro Sanchez, a 39-year-old Latino, on July 16. He was stabbed at North Fair Oaks Avenue and East Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena.

Darren Gunter, a 39-year-old black man, on July 16. Gunter was shot in the 1000 block of Grandee Avenue in Compton.

Ivan Valencia, a 30-year-old Latino, on July 17. Valencia was shot at 55th Main streets in South Park.

Rayshawn Stewart, a 22-year-old black man, on July 17. Stewart was shot at Clarkdale Avenue and Nava Street in Norwalk.

Willie Sykes, a 47-year-old black man, on July 17. Sykes was shot in the 2000 block of Nord Street in Compton.

Victor Garza Jr., a 23-year-old Latino, on July 17. Garza was shot in the 400 block of East Oaks Street in Compton.

Jesus Sandoval, a 17-year-old Latino, on July 17. Sandoval was shot in the 400 block of East Oaks Street in Compton.

Michael Allen, a 29-year-old black man, on July 17. Allen was shot in the 1000 block of West 60th Street in Vermont-Slauson.

Lars Sanchez, a 4-year-old Latino boy, on July 18. Sanchez was stabbed in the 300 block of Vista Place in Highland Park.

Stinson Brown, a 21-year-old black man, on July 18. Brown was shot in the 4200 block of West Don Felipe Drive in Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw.

Hutch Jackson, a 30-year-old white man, on July 18. Jackson was shot in the 1200 block of West 71st Street in Vermont-Slauson.

Ricardo Contreras, a 45-year-old Latino, on July 18. Contreras was stabbed in the 8900 block of Kittyhawk Avenue in Westchester.

Frederick Lombardo, a 45-year-old white man, on July 18. Lombardo sustained a laceration in the 6100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.

Jorge Hernandez, a 30-year-old Latino, on July 19. Hernandez was shot in the 10600 block of Wilmington Avenue in Watts.

Nery Arias, a 44-year-old Latino, on July 20. Arias was shot at 28th Street and Trinity in Historic South-Central.
