On Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, The Times launched a new version of the Homicide Report. You have arrived at the old blog.

Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.

Comments prior to Jan. 26 will, at least for now, remain archived here, with links provided in the new database.

Homicides: July 1 - July 6

The Los Angeles County coroner's office has confirmed the following deaths as homicides. The Times will report more details this week:

Adolfo Medina, a 61-year-old Latino, on July 1.  Medina was shot and stabbed in the 11300 block on Ernestine Avenue in Lynwood.

Jeffrey German, a 31-year-old black man, on July 1. German was shot in the 700 block of East 25th Street in Historic South-Central.

Craig Wright, a 50-year-old black man, on July 1. Wright was stabbed in the 1700 block of Vista del Mar Avenue in Hollywood.

Sergio Santiago, a 17-year-old Latino, on July 3.  Santiago was shot in the 17100 block of Coolwater Avenue in unicorporated Los Angeles.

Jamel Kelly, a 25-year-old black man, on July 3. Kelly was shot in the 2700 block of North Wilmington Avenue in Compton.

Dominique Johnson, a 28-year-old black man, on July 5. Johnson was shot in 1300 block of North Tamarind Avenue in Compton.

Pedro Xochipa, a 21-year-old Latino, on July 5. Xochipa was shot in the 3400 block of Eagel Street in Boyle Heights.

Avery Cody Jr., a 16-year-old black teenager, on July 5. Cody was shot at the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Poinsettia Avenue in Compton.
