Glendale: Guillermo Jacobo, 41

Guillermo Jacobo, a 41-year-old Latino, struck his head in a fight and died from a brain injury July 9. He was injured in a fight on June 29 in the 1400 block of South Brand Boulevard in Glendale, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Jacobo was leaving a bar and there was a fight outside, said Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. Jacobo was caught up in the fight and sustained the head injury that led to his death, Harvey said.

Harvey said coroner’s investigators were unsure of the exact cause of Jacobo’s injury. Jacobo either was struck in the head during the fight or fell and struck his head on the pavement during the fight, Harvey said.

The injury occurred at 4:57 a.m. June 29, and Jacobo was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:51 p.m. July 9.
