Compton: Dominique Johnson, 28

July 13, 2009 |  4:05 pm

Dominique Johnson, a 28-year-old black man, was shot and killed July 5 in the 1300 block of North Tamarind Avenue in Compton, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Johnson, of Lynwood, was sitting in a car with his girlfriend about midnight when another car pulled up and someone fired several shots at them, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.

Johnson was taken to a hospital, where he died 23 minutes later, Winter said.
