Pedro Xochipa, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot in the head July 4 in the 3400 block of Eagle Street in Boyle Heights and died the next day, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Xochipa was attending a Fourth of July party when there was an argument and confrontation, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Xochipa was shot during the argument, and the suspect fled the scene, Winter said.
