Northridge: Man, 22, shot in his home

Edgar Moreira, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot several times in his home in the 8900 block of Wilbur Avenue in Northridge on Thursday, March 26, 2009, according to Los Angeles police.

Police found Moreira dead about 7 a.m. They began looking for Jose Jesus Delgado, a 31-year-old Latino, in connection with the homicide. About 12:30 p.m. that day, police responded to a call reporting vandalism in the 8300 block of Winnetka Avenue.

They discovered Delgado, who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was banging his head against walls and windows of businesses at the location, according to an LAPD news release.  

"Delgado was taken to a local hospital for self inflicted head wounds where he remains in critical condition.  He was arrested and absentee booked for murder.  His bail was set at $1,000,000," according to the March 27 news release.

My heartfelt deepest sympathy for the parents of this young handsome man who was brutally murder in his home. It sad to hear how these young people are being killed for the dumbest thing. May the Lord be with his family at this time of sorrow. We will request the Church paster to say a prayer for the dead young man.. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
