Athens: Man, 21, shot

Chico Shelby, a 21-year-old black man, was shot several times on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, in the 1000 block of 108th Street in Athens, according to coroner’s records.
Shelby was standing on the porch of a home when an unknown black man in his 20s walked up and shot him, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect got into a car, described by police as a blue mid-sized sedan, possibly with four doors, and drove off.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to call 323-890-5500.
