Sunland: Woman, 46, shot in head

February 5, 2009 |  6:21 pm

Gail Wardle, a 46-year-old white woman, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 a day after she was shot in the head in her home in 11300 block of West Wentworth Street in Sunland, authorities said.

Wardle's housemate, Juliette Minjarez, 43, was arrested in connection with the killing, which authorities described as a case of domestic violence.

Paramedics responded to a home on Nov. 3 shortly after 4 p.m. where they found Wardle injured and unable to speak.  Wardle was taken to hospital where authorities determined that she had been shot with a small caliber gun.

Detectives arrested Minjarez, who lived with Wardle, after searching the home and interviewing witnesses, officials said.
