Commerce: Man, 38, is beaten while working at a bar

Edward Hernandez, a 38-year-old Latino man, died of blunt-force trauma to the head and torso on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, after he was beaten while working at a bar in the 900 block of South Gerhart Avenue in Commerce.

Three suspects, all Latino men in their 20s or 30s, were arrested in connection with the homicide, which occurred about 9:30 p.m. at Nicola’s Bar, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department report.
