Southwest L.A.: Man shot dead in middle of street

Carrington Henderson, a black man of unknown age, was killed shortly after midnight Saturday, Nov. 1, in the 21000 block of West 48th Street.

Henderson was standing in the street when two unidentified suspects in a mid-sized vehicle and a sport utility vehicle shot him multiple times. The suspects fled east on 48th Street, driving about two blocks before shooting at a group of individuals. No one was hit in the second shooting, police said. Henderson was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Southwest Division homicide Dets. Robert Lait and Vincent Carreon at (213) 485-1383.  After hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number (877) LAPD-24-7 or by texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with LAPD.

i have to comment on this even though it is well after the fact i agree with the comment about so many friends yet no one showed up at hospital, my son lay in the operating room fighting for his life in which he lost that fight and all was there present was his family, now after allmost three years and everyone moves on time still stands still for me wishing i could go back to that day and change something about that day like telling my son to watch his back which is what i did so many times when he left out of the front door and he said mom i do but if it is my time to go then it is my time so i get a little peace that he was brave and knew that these awful things could happen now after all this time i lay at night and think of how those gunshots must have hurt my son as they ripped through his body where they landed i know where as i was so wanting to know everything i requested a copy of his autopsy report and now i wish i would of left that alone because i struggle with what i know all i have is anger and at times it consumes me but nothing i do are think to do will ever bring my loving son back again so god bless you and your family and stay prayed up because this place we live in aint nothing but hell!!!

Carrington was young ole soul. What is the saddest part is that so many friends yet none of them went to the hospital after he was shot except my lil bro Showoff (Twin). Well as with the rest of the 2nd Avenue Family, he will be missed by anyone that knew him...rest well along with Brian "Blacc" Byrd, Ty Huddy, Louis "King Lou" Davenport and all. Everyone that is breathing, enjoy the moments that make you smile and those that make you cry. The last time I saw Carringont (Sixx) was about a week before, you never know until it's too late to know.

IF NOTHING CHANGES, NOTHING CHANGES
THIS MESS WILL HAVE TO START WITH THE
ONES WHO'S DOING IT
SICK PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE. THEY DON'T THINK THEY'RE THE PROBLEM. TO THEM IT'S ALWAYS THE OTHERS FAULT

To: Kim Smith

Shut up........................................

CARRINGTON AKA SIXX WAS 25 HE HAD TWO BEAUTIFUL LITTLE BOY THAT MEANT THE WORLD TO HIM. HE WAS A GREAT FATHER AND A GREAT FRIEND HE WILL BE MISSED.

Carrington was called "Wendy" 43 (it was the 2100 blk of w. 48th st). who was a good man, brother, father uncle and friend to all who knew him. I grew up with Wendy who had a great diaposition, good sense of humor and a superd character about himself. He loved his family, friends and people period, he was appreciative of life and all it braught good or bad. He studied and devoted himself to the musilum faith, trying to teach the Word of the Koran especially to our young black men. Recently gave our votes for Obama too become our President for some changes, now why can't we make some changes ourselves in our communities and in ourselves. Obama will be living in the White House while we still will be living in the hood that has been troubled for years so why can't we devote our energy to making our nieghborhoods safe by stepping forth. There are families out there hurting from senseless killing, and crimes living in fear. It starts with us wanting to makes changes reporting crimes of violence that we know and hear about, or the problem is never going to end. To Shawn, George, Rose and the rest of the family May God Bless you all. Wendy will surely missed.
