I am heartbroken. Such a senseless loss of a kind and compassionate young man. I was his 8th grade English teacher and he was such a pleasure to teach. He was everyone's friend. We kept in touch occasionally over the years. I remember how handsome he looked at Nancy's quinceniera. We at Caroldale really loved him.

Michael is my nephew, this is truly a great lost to our family. Michael was NOT a gang member, this was NOT gang related, he was an innocent victim. This is truly a senseless crime.

MIchael was a good kid. iIremember so many happy times when he would be at my house. Halloween when they were in 6th grade, sleep overs, back and forth to cyber lag when they first opened, they were young and needed rides everywhere. He was best friends with my son for a number of years. They went in different directions in the past few years and I lost touch with him.
I am so sad to know that I'll never meet his wife or find out what he grew up to be. He was just a kid still. I hope the person who did this relizes how many people he hurt. Michael's middleschool teachers have heard and are saddened. The coment I got from the school was "we all have so many fond memories of Michael"
He was loved by alot of people who will really miss him.
I love you Michael, and will never forget you, Ms. Swerer

My heart goes out to all of the family and I pray for you guys, some of who I know very well. This was a terrible thing for an innocent person who had nothing to do with nothing he was just trying to visit his family.

this was my cousin and this is not how the story was. he was moving his cousin car, he was not just standing outside. who is going to stand outside on 96 and avalon at 10:00pm at night. by the time he moved the car he came back on the porch and a man gunned him down. michael has never been involved in any gangs. he is not even from the area.he recently moved to arizona and he came by to visit his grandmother. they killed an innocent victim...when will this stop??? he wasnt just hanging outside as the story says.news people if your going to tell the story then tell it right.

My prayers go out to the family of this young man. Just another one of our kids that has lost his life over nothing. I would like to know if this young man went to Washington High School?
