South-Central Los Angeles: drive-by shooting
A 33-year-old Latino man was shot and killed in the backyard of a home in the 1200 block of West Florence Avenue in South-Central Los Angeles about 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15.
Los Angeles Police Department officials said the man was shot multiple times shortly after walking into the yard. Police said the man had just closed the gate when an unknown number of suspects fired several shots through the gate. The man was hit several times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not say whether the man lived at the home.
Authorities said two other men, who were in the yard at the time, also were injured by gunfire and were listed in stable condition.

UPDATE: The victim was later identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office as Miguel Maravilla, 33, and the California Department of Motor Vehicles says he also goes by the name Miguel Gonzalez.

it's unfortunate this happen tothis youngman and can happen to anyone of any race. we need to knowthat it is dangerous in the streets at regular hours of the day, let alone the wee morning hours like this. we as citizen need to be indoors and educate our children about the dangers of being outside at those hours of the night.there are not many people out so therefore this murder like numerous ofpthersmay go unsolved due tothe lack of witnesses.
