Jackie Vargas, 31

Jackie Vargas, 31, a Latino man, was fatally shot in a car-to-car shooting in the 4100 block of Durfee Avenue in El Monte about 11:37 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29.

L.A. County Sheriff's Department officials said Vargas was shot several times in the upper torso. He died at the scene.  Authorities were searching for two Latino men in a White Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call detectives fromt he L.A. County Sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500
