Sheila Ann Montelongo, 39
Sheila Ann Montelongo, 39, a Latina woman, was shot at 12:43 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at a party in the 1300 block of South Downey Road in East Los Angeles.
Montelongo was attending a birthday party when a Latino man standing on the street began shooting at the crowd, authorities said. Montelongo was struck in the back by gunfire. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said. Witnesses told deputies the gunman fled on foot on South Downey Road.
Two other people — a Latino man and a Latina woman — also were wounded from gunfire. They were both treated by paramedics and were expected to survive, authorities said.

My heart goes out to the entire family and especially her kids. May the Lord give you all the straight you need. Downey Road is just not the same anymore. I grew up on this block many years ago and you could sit out side and talk to all your neighbors. We need more Police patrol around our neighborhoods.

The car wash will take place tomorrow morning (saturday) from the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. near Washington and Atlantic. I'm pretty sure that is either Commerce or Montebello. I would like to thank you all for your support and kind words about Sheila. It means a great deal.

It's so unfortunate what happened to Sheila. Not only heart breaking, but frustrating. I didn't know her too well, but I saw her around alot and waved and smiled to eachother often. I know some of her family very well and may God bless them. May her children be strong!!! The viewing is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, with services on Friday. There is also going to be a carwash for raising funds for the services.
Sorry, I don't know the details, but I hope that someone can comment on those details!
