Joe Anthony Valverde, 56

Joe Anthony Valverde, 56, a Latino man, died after fighting with his son, according to the Whittier Daily News. The incident occurred in the 10300 block of Colima Road in the unincorporated area of Whittier about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3.

Valverde was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  His son, Isaac Gutierrez, 34, a Latino man, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Homicide detectives with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department are investigating.
