growing up in Los Angeles (Im 40 now) violence has always been a part of life. 30 years ago it used to be more about fighting but even then a person could get beat to death. Just being anywhere in Los Angeles (all the black and Mexican communities) you never feel safe especially if you are not from there. Im from the the Crenshaw area but I know that park on Success near Century. I knew someone that lived on Success about 15 years ago. I remember saying to myself that there was no way I would step one foot in that park and I didnt like being in Watts period or any other neighborhood besides the one I grew up in. I never was into gangs just hustling before you had to be in a gang to hustle. I consider many of the dudes I grew up with real OG's because we were who we wanted to be and would get down with anybody. It doesnt take a brave person to kill Just a damn fool. Thats why I never respected or feared gang members because I knew they were fools. They just come around and trip on nothing like scary little punks and love to be in groups so they can get courage to act like the fools they are. Whoever could kill a 59 year old man alone or with a group has to be a damn fool and a PURE coward. May God reward them with HELL.

In response to Diana's posting....your & your friends experiance at St. Francis was not good because you must of made it that way!!! Thanks to the wonderful Doctors & ALL staffs at St.Francis...they were able to save the life of my husband which was a victim of gun shot wounds. Every staff includingnuns & priests were very healing to the soul and not to mention body (Dr.'s & nurses). Sad that this victim was not saved on time, but don't try to point fingers at others! May the lord have mercy on all the victims of a crime and condolence to this man's family & friends!

I hate to post this but..... St. Francis has become the next Killer King. Those of you that are older than 25 should know what I am referring to. That hospital is pathetic. I REALLY hope that the man died from his injuries sustained and not due to lack of attention by medical staff. Numerous family members and friends have reported negligence in the waiting rooms, doctors and staff are disrespectful, and I'm hesitant to say, but I also hear the Priests are RUDE!!!!!

something happens every year at these pools and parks
in watts, how many more people have to die.

where was the watts gang task force and the sheriff?
