Johnnie Lopez, 26

Johnnie Lopez, 26, a Latino man, was shot in the 8400 block of Greenbush Avenue in Panorama City about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

Los Angeles Police Department officials said Lopez was returning from a park with a friend when a Latino man on a bicycle approached him and asked "Where you from?" The gunman then shot both Lopez and his friend. He was taken by ambulance to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where the he died. Lopez's friend was also hospitalized and was expected to recover.
