Edgar Garcia, 20, a Latino, was shot in the 1400 block of Linden Avenue in Long Beach about 2 a.m. Saturday, June 28.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, Garcia and another Latino man were standing on the street talking when a vehicle approached them. Someone in the vehicle opened fire at Garcia and the man. Garcia was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he died.
The other man was taken by car to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
