Luis Leon, 19

Luis_alberto_leon_19Luis Leon, 19, a Latino man, was fatally wounded in a shooting in the 1400 block of West 58th Street in Los Angeles about 11 a.m. Friday, May 9. Police said Leon was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police said that Leon was standing on the sidewalk when a four-door vehicle drove up and stopped. A man stepped out of the vehicle and shot Leon. The man ran back to the vehicle and fled the scene, police said.

A 19-year-old black man was also wounded in the shooting. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is recovering.  Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call (213) 485-1383.
