On Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, The Times launched a new version of the Homicide Report. You have arrived at the old blog.

Readers can no longer post new comments on this site, but we encourage you to join the conversation on our new site. The updated Homicide Report features an interactive map and searchable database of the more than 2,600 homicides in L.A. County since January 2007, when Times' reporter Jill Leovy first started this blog with the goal of covering each one.

Comments prior to Jan. 26 will, at least for now, remain archived here, with links provided in the new database.

If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail homicidereport@latimes.com, and we will do our best to respond.

iknew the 17 year old and the other guys who were stapped.they came to my work right before they left to tthe party.the guy who died was on the phone getting the addres to the party.his name is andrew this is so sad

i personally knew andrew and i cant see how someone could do this to someone.... especially someone as sweet as drew.... he was a wonderful person and he me and him and a couple of other kids kept our 7th period class laughing all the time.... he was the type of kid who would do his own thing and not care about what other people said..... i can honestly say that andrew was one of the best people that i knew.... and i also want to say that if i find out who did this.... they are going to be in jail for the rest of their lives and thats a promise
