Gabriel Martinez, 19

Gabriel Martinez, 19, a young Latino man, died from severe injuries after falling from a moving vehicle in the 1100 block of North Stimson Avenue in La Puente about 4:20 p.m. Sunday, May 18.

According to Deputy Oscar Butao of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, Martinez was involved in a fight with two men. A short time later, the two men got into a white pickup truck and attempted to leave the scene. Authorities said Martinez grabbed onto the driver's-side door, but lost his grip, fell and died from severe injuries at the scene. Authorities said the two men were later found and detained for questioning. No arrests have been made, Butao said.
