Jonathan Taylor, 24, a black man, was killed during a gun battle with police officers from the El Segundo Police Department about 10:15 p.m. in El Segundo Friday, April 11. The officer-involved shooting occurred at the Pacific Beach Cities 16 Cinemas, 831 S. Nash St. in El Segundo. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, two El Segundo police officers at the theater were called in after Taylor argued with employees. The officers detained Taylor and began to search him. During the search, Taylor allegedly pulled out a handgun and began shooting. Both officers were struck by gunfire but were able to shoot back, authorities said. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Both officers were taken by ambulance to UCLA Harbor-Medical Center. Authorities would not release any further information about the shooting or the officers.

The Daily Breeze has disclosed that this incident occurred because this man became belligerant after being refused a refund when he could not produce his ticket stub. When two El Segundo police officers approached, he pulled a gun and opened fire, hitting the two officers and grazing one bystander.

This guy goes to a crowded movie theater with a gun.

Absolutely brilliant. It shows his concern for the safety of others.

Good thing he cant make the same stupid mistake again.

Unfortunately, Mark, you won't feel good about this. The article includes that two other people, unrelated to the deceased, were arrested when a discarded handgun was found in one of the theatres cleared during the course of the investigation

S.I.P. LIL GRINCH

O'Dawg, I looked up the Daily Breeze story on it and read that.

Unless something is done about these gangs, were heading to a civil war.

This genius lost his life over a $8.50 movie ticket. Just brilliant.

He lost his life because he was armed with a handgun and shot two uniformed police officers who thankfully were not killed. He shot at the police officers first who returned fire and killed him. He was up to no good that is why he is listed on this blog. When someone does something stupid like this and get's killed, I don't feel sorry for them.

Does anyone know any more about Jonathan Taylor? Was he mental? Did he have a history of run-ins with the police?

May Jonathan rest in peace! Whether right or wrong, some respect needs to be shown for the deceased. Those that took the oppurtunity to be negitive on this page should be ashaimed of themselves.

Too bad he got killed, but someone that carries a handgun around like that needs to be removed not only from the streets but from society. He knows very well what kind of lifestyle he's living, and just like an Army soldier signs up for duty knowing the possible consequences this young man knew them too in his own circumstance. There are too many law abiding people in danger for us to feel sorry for this guy who basically put his life in jeopardy on purpose and he knew it.
