Ray Miller Jr., 24

Ray_miller_jr_24Ray Miller Jr., a 24-year-old black man, was shot in the neck and torso at about 12:40 a.m. Monday, March 17, at 2103 W. 102nd St. in Athens, and died within an hour. Deputies got a call of a man down and found him lying in an alley. He was taken to Martin Luther King Jr. Harbor hospital, where he was pronounced dead 1:28 a.m.

Another murder in the so called "Athens" District of the city. I don't know if the victim was targetted for some reason or just minding his own business when he was gunned down. Like I have wrote in earlier post, it seems you can't be on the streets in some areas of the Athens district. Another deceased young black male, another family grieving. It just goes on and on.

another senseless murder in our city this was someone's son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend. why are we continuing to make our city out of a killing field when are we going to want to live in peace love happiness allow our grandparents sit on there porches again and enjoy a nice brisk sunny day when our we going to allow the little kids play outside ride their bikes and scooters right now thre is no where that is safe i baught my two grandsons bikes for christmas 2006 and there still in the box because i refuse to let them be the next victum of this killing field you feel me
